# Choose your service

Your choice depends on the resources you need and who will administer your environment.

| Your requirement | Suitable service | Administration |
| ----------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Host a PHP or WordPress website and its email | [Web hosting](/documentation/en/web-hosting.md) | You use Plesk; UP-NETWORK operates the platform. |
| Install your own applications or a game server | [VPS](/documentation/en/vps/vps.md) | You administer the operating system and applications. |
| Reserve CPU and memory for a demanding workload | [VDS](/documentation/en/dedicated/vds.md) | Unmanaged or Managed, according to your choice. |
| Have a physical machine | [Dedicated server](/documentation/en/dedicated/dedicated-servers.md) | You administer the server unless you have a managed services contract. |
| Collaborate on files, email and documents | [Collaborative Suite](/documentation/en/suite-collaborative.md) | You manage your organisation; UP-NETWORK administers the platform. |
| Connect your ASN or transport your network | [Network solutions](/documentation/en/network/networking-and-bgp.md) | Provisioning is validated with an engineer. |
| Install your own hardware in a datacenter | [Housing](/documentation/en/infrastructure/housing.md) | Hardware operation depends on the contract selected. |

## VPS or VDS?

A BASIC VPS uses shared resources. A PRO VPS offers guaranteed resources within the scope of its plan. A VDS reserves its CPU and memory resources for your environment. The PRO range therefore does not correspond to a dedicated physical machine.

The [comparison on the website](https://up-network.ch/services/vps-hosting) provides further guidance. [Availability commitments](/documentation/en/infrastructure/service-levels.md), backups and the level of administration vary by service.

## Before ordering

Estimate your CPU, memory, disk, committed bandwidth, IP address and backup requirements. Also specify your migration and support constraints. If your needs fall outside the configurator, [request an assessment](https://up-network.ch/contact).

Cloud storage and AI services are listed as “coming soon” on the website; this documentation does not present them as available to order.
